Summary

In 2020, tuition, admissions, and clearing underwent its ‘trial by fire’. The entire university experience for prospective and existing students had to go virtual, leading to a palpable sense of panic and cries of “how will this ever work?” Many valuable lessons have been learnt – but what’s next, and has the scene been set permanently for fully virtual admissions?

In this session Keele University discuss how the success of their interim clearing and admissions measures set the entire organisation on a new path towards virtual admissions and online delivery. Initially set-up in response to lockdown, their virtual clearing call-centre enabled 50 staff to work from home, but also gave them real-time calling data for the very first time.  Their virtual admissions day, enabled prospective students from around the world to tour the campus online, and helped them make the right choices.

Find out how Heads of Faculty, Admissions and IT can collaborate together better and redesign admissions processes to meet the needs of digital age students and staff. The Keele University team will talk about the positives to come out of the lockdown, such as the cultural shift and technical foundation that has prepared the university to digitally evolve over the next few years and attract new generations of students.
