Bradley Longford

Trainee Business and Marketing Assistant, Henry Boot Construction Ltd

Biography

Bradley grew up in Sheffield, attending Bradfield School and then studying marketing at The Sheffield College. After graduating, Bradley knew he wanted to apply what he learnt into the workplace, and he found the best way to do that would be through an apprenticeship. After being unsuccessful at several blue-chip companies, Bradley applied at Henry Boot Construction, which was a lot closer to home and successfully got the position of Trainee Business & Marketing Assistant. Bradley has now been in the role for over three years and is in his final year of his course studying Professional Practice in Management at Sheffield Hallam University. Bradley has really enjoyed his apprenticeship, and he has found that his skills and knowledge have developed further than he could ever have imagined.

Bradley wasn’t overly academic at school, and just before starting his university course, he found out he had dyslexia. However, this only spurred Bradley on to continue his studies. After realising what he has achieved through his apprenticeship, he is keen to share his story to inspire other young people to consider an apprenticeship. He is Chair of the Young Apprenticeship Ambassador Network in Yorkshire and Humber. He has also been involved in helping shape the Association of Apprentices, which is a newly formed network for apprentices.

During the weekend, Bradley can be found supporting his local football team Sheffield Wednesday and his friends Sunday league side, Stannington Rangers. Bradley also enjoys attending music festivals and gigs and has seen the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and Blossoms to name a few.
