Conrad Heyns

Head of the English Language Centre, Goldsmiths, University of London

Biography

Conrad Heyns joined Goldsmiths, University of London in 2016 after periods at the University of the Arts London, International House London and the London School of Economics.

Prior to these roles, he worked in a number of international positions - from High Schools in South Africa to teacher training in Peru, from private language schools in Australia, Japan and the USA to working with governmental Education Bureaus across China.

He has particular interests in intercultural communication, the student experience and quality assurance within Higher Education institutions.

He is currently an inspector for four different schemes: The BALEAP Accreditation Scheme (BAS), the Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality Language Services (Eaquals), the International House World Organisation (IHWO) and CELTA teacher training (Cambridge English).

He is currently the Chair of the BALEAP Accreditation Scheme and the incoming Chair of BALEAP. He is also a judge for the British Council ELTons and the English Speaking Union Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
