Summary

The pandemic inspired a surge in appetite for health and social care courses. As the NHS united to tackle the virus, a new wave of almost 160,000 aspiring medics, social workers, allied health professionals and nurses applied through UCAS and joined the sector.

Join this session to hear more about UCAS’ research, Next Steps: Who are the ‘future nurses’? to explore who are these future health care professionals? What, and who, has shaped and inspired their decisions? What excites and worries them most about their next steps?

With healthcare programmes highly competitive programmes, you’ll also:

  • hear from university staff about how to best support applicants through the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) process and understand more about what constitutes adequate work experience.
  • learn about the work of Medic Mentors, who support aspiring medics throughout the research, application and interview process
