Dr Mark Joseph Walmsley is a Lecturer in the Humanities and Widening Participation Officer at UEA. His role entails supporting students before, during, and after their time at university, with a focus on those who have faced institutionalised inequalities during their educational journeys. As a Director of the Foundation Year Network, Mark has observed the diversity and strength of foundation year provision across the UK and is a passionate advocate for the transformative role that these courses can play in the lives of students from a range of different backgrounds.
