Meet the team:
Lynn Campbell is a true aficionado of Scotland's rich heritage and history! With an illustrious career spanning over two decades as a tour guide and a deep-rooted commitment to preserving Orkney's cultural legacy, Lynn is not just a Program Leader but a fount of knowledge in the field of Culture and Heritage. Currently pursuing her PhD with a focus on Orkney's history during the 17th and 18th centuries, Lynn's research promises to unveil fascinating insights into the region's past.

Dr. Andrew Lind joins us with a wealth of expertise in early modern Europe, specializing in the British Civil Wars. With a background from the University of Glasgow and a focus on Scottish Royalism, Andrew's ground-breaking research challenges conventional narratives and sheds light on the complex dynamics of this period. Andrew is also deeply committed to preserving and sharing Scotland's rich history. He is an active contributor to academia and public engagement, with notable publications and television appearances highlighting his dedication to historical scholarship. His passion for collaboration and exploration in early modern British history makes him a valuable addition to our team.

Professor Donna Heddle is the esteemed Director of INS. An exceptional scholar and visionary leader in the field of Northern Studies, Donna's contributions to academia and cultural preservation are unparalleled. With a distinguished career marked by numerous awards for her pioneering course development and design, Donna exemplifies excellence in higher education. With a focus on Scottish and Northern Isles cultural history, Donna leads national and international research projects, including cultural tourism initiatives in the North Atlantic rim and the South Pacific. With her unwavering passion for fostering community-centred research and her tireless dedication to advancing knowledge in her field, Prof Donna Heddle stands as a beacon of inspiration and excellence.

Kate Irvine and Fiona Kennedy make up our dedicated administration team who have been instrumental in bringing this event to fruition. From coordinating logistics to catering to the needs of our visitors, their unwavering dedication and hard work have been the driving force behind the success of this event. Kate and Fiona are eager to assist you and are a valuable resource for any questions you may have about our institute.
