Student life

Brunel students have access to a wide range of learning facilities including the library, quiet study areas and computer labs. The Library is at the heart of the campus, holding a collection of approximately 400,000 books and an increasing collection of e-resources to support students’ study needs.  Students have access to wi-fi across campus and in halls of residence, Microsoft Office, 24-hour PC labs and a network email account.

The dedicated Student Centre offers financial, personal and academic support.  As part of the Student Centre, The Academic Skills service (ASK)  specialises in teaching all Brunel students the skills needed to learn independently and thrive academically, whatever their level or subject.

Support for students’ welfare is offered by the Student Wellbeing team, which works with many students including those with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, mental health difficulties such as anxiety, and other medical conditions.

Campus and facilities

Brunel has a friendly, buzzing and exciting campus, with plenty of places to grab a coffee and hang out with friends. Students have a huge choice of food outlets offering dishes from all over world: traditional English, a variety of street food from pop-up vendors, pizza, Subway, Mexican food or flavours of the Middle East. There are green spaces to relax in and students love hanging out with friends in the quad, playing volleyball, listening to music or just enjoying the sun.  There are plenty of quiet places to sit or to walk and a pretty river runs through the centre of campus. Students don’t have to leave campus to stock up on essentials as there is a supermarket, regular pop-up market stalls and a pharmacy. Night-time entertainment includes the student bar Loco’s where students can grab some food and drinks with friends, watch the football or even try karaoke! The Venue nightclub offers something for everyone, from Juicy Wednesday's to Bollywood, Afrobashment and Live Music.
